Once there is a confirmed elective, the coordinator will email the student to confirm this is acceptable and connect them with the department.<\/p><\/li><li><p>The coordinator will communicate with the student regarding the required documents for the portal application. If the student needs assistance with the immunization form, that can be provided. The Medical Education Office (MEO) works with the Undergraduate Medical Education Office and your training program to facilitate your placement and clinical access withing the hospitals and facilities operated by AHS.<\/p><p>Together with our colleagues, we share the AHS\u2019s Mission \u201cTo provide a patient-focused, quality health system that is accessible and sustainable for all Albertans.\u201d While remaining accountable to the Cumming School of Medicine for your educational program, you will be expected to perform clinical duties in an appropriate, professional manner and comply with the codes of conduct, general bylaws, standards, policies, procedures, and applicable guidelines of your host site or institution including, but not limited to, those of Alberta Health Services (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.albertahealthservices.ca\/about\/Page210.aspx\">https:\/\/www.albertahealthservices.ca\/about\/Page210.aspx<\/a>). The page includes reference information and online modules (Flash Player Required) that will introduce you to AHS\u2019s values, policies, procedures and other important information for a placement in our facilities<\/p><p><strong>CPSA<\/strong><\/p><p>Students are automatically registered for no charge with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta upon confirmation of their elective. With the implementation of Bill 21, the CPSA now must collect Criminal Record Checks (CRC) for all new applicants November 19, 2018 forward. Information regarding the new criteria is as follows:<\/p><ul><li>\u2022 STEP 1\u00a0 CPSA will email you with a form that will need to be filled out. Fill this out, send it in and wait for further instructions.<\/li><li>\u2022 STEP 2\u00a0 HOLD OFF on sending in your CRC until you have received an email from CPSA with further instructions.<\/li><li>\u2022 STEP 3\u00a0 Once you have received the email from CPSA, you can forward your CRC to registration@cpsa.ab.ca.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>UNIVERSITY OF ALBERTA STUDENTS<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>You will still need to fill out the form from the CPSA, as this will pertain to your elective with us.
