in duration.\u00a0 They begin on Mondays and end on Sundays with the exception of some Emergency Medicine and CTU rotations (students completing a CTU elective may be required to be on call on the last Saturday of their elective and should plan travels accordingly) and weeks that contain statutory holidays.<\/p><p>We do not allow any \u201coff-cycle\u201d electives (rotations that overlap two blocks).<\/p><p><strong>PLACEMENT POLICY<\/strong><\/p><p>Due to the requirements of McMaster\u2019s own medical students and the popularity of the electives program, capacity is limited.\u00a0 As such, we cannot guarantee that all applicants will receive a confirmed elective.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Students will be notified if they have been matched to an elective after the application window
